The Benefits of Homeschooling

My husband and I have been home-schooling our three daughters for three (3) years now and we are glad we made the decision of taking this challenge. It isn't an easy one but the benefits are far worth than the sacrifices we have to make. Here are some of the benefits we have seen along the way:

1. More time with our kids. We are able to spend more time with our kids to teach them their lessons than when we send them to school. If they were going to a regular school, they would spend at least 6-8 hours a day for five days in a week and we would only have only about 8 hours with them. In our present situation, we develop a stronger bond with our kids.

2. Less or no negative influence from peers. Because my kids only stay at home, they avoid becoming influenced by the bad behavior or attitude of others. They may not be able to socialize a lot of time with other kids but that isn't a disadvantage. They tend to be more behaved when socializing with others.

3. Development of talents and skills. Our kids have less pressure in their academics and have more time to pursue their interests which in turn helps them to develop specific talents. For example, my eldest daughter has learned how to cook fried egg and scrambled egg with sausage. She hopes to learn to cook more dishes later because she wants to be a Chef.

There are still many benefits I can't mention for now but will be adding them later.
