The Story of My Kids' New Pets

On January 10. 2019, the kids went fishing at the Fishing Village of Eden Nature Park. The three of them together with their dad caught 4 catfish which weighed up 4.2 kg. Their dad decided to have 2 catfish fired and have it for lunch while the two were to be kept alive and cooked at home. However, when we came home, they were already pleading not to have the 2 catfish cooked. Instead, they wanted to keep them alive as pets. We didn't have any aquarium so they used a durable plastic transparent box as temporary aquarium for the two catfish.

They named them Alex and Albert for they though that were both male. The two of them lived together until one day, one of them named Alex, was found lifeless. So, my kids buried it in the backyard and even made a gravestone to mark where it was buried. They even had a burial ceremony imitating the ceremony they witnessed one time.

My kids were so sad about this. However, they are still grateful that one is still alive and it is growing. In fact, they decided to give it another name - Isa because they believed it is a female catfish.
